Established in 1905, the Office du Tourisme & des Congrès du Grand Lyon was originally Syndicat d'Initiative.
It was, initially, to 19 Place Bellecour.
The Office of Tourism was established in 1925 in the center of the Place Bellecour, in a
Pavilion built in 1856 by architect Tony Desjardins.
The Pavilion, originally military, served as a guard, then post
police before finding his current assignment.
The Bureau des Congrès de Lyon was founded in 1986 to meet strong demand
in tourism business.
Close to make only single-The Office of Tourism &
Congrès du Grand Lyon, they are dedicated not only to Lyon, but also to
55 communes, which are the Grand Lyon.
**** Ranked for the quality of its services, the Office of Tourism & Congress Grand Lyon won Afnor in November 1998.
2005: the Office of Tourism & des Convention celebrates 100 years!
